About this site

BanTech is a personal blog by Miguel Calvo Arnal, created in mid-2025 as a space to better document and share some of the projects carried out over the years — things built out of curiosity, experimentation, or the simple urge to understand how something works. Many of the projects are done in collaboration with Andrés Laín Sanclemente, a close friend and former university classmate.

Many of these projects have remained offline until now, scattered across notebooks, code folders, and half-finished prototypes. This blog is an attempt to revisit them, dust them off, and give them a second life — in case they inspire someone else, or prove more useful than just forgotten ideas.

The topics may vary, but they all share the same spirit: learning by building, exploring, and trying things out.

Who am I?

I’m Miguel, a physicist from Spain, now living in Denmark. I’m in my mid-twenties and have always been drawn to building things—whether it’s writing code, designing circuits, or figuring out how to make something work with limited tools and a bit of improvisation.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, a couple of years of professional experience with embedded systems (specifically, ultra-low-power ultrasonic wind meters), and will soon begin a Master’s in Physics and Technology.

Outside of that—and of my technology and science projects—I’ve recently got into sourdough bread, hydroponics, and archery. Different hobbies, same curiosity.

If you’re just browsing, experimenting, or looking for someone who enjoys solving problems from the ground up—welcome!

Thanks for reading.
